Email: “Lied to by Browne”An email from a woman who says she paid Sylvia Browne one hundred dollars, and got two failed predictions in return.
BackgroundGetting a personal "reading" from Sylvia Browne is not cheap. The price for a face-to-face reading with her is not even listed on her web site, but a phone reading, in which the caller gets to speak with Browne for twenty to thirty minutes, costs $750. I was also recently told (by someone who had spoken with Browne's office) that the waiting list is four years long. This is obviously beyond the means (and patience) of many people. According to one woman who wrote to the site, there used to be a cheaper, quicker way for someone to put money into Browne's pocket. The EmailOn November 30, 2006, I received the following email, shown here with the author’s permission (I have removed her name and email address.):
AnalysisIn a follow-up email, I asked this woman if she had been asked to send another fifty dollars with the "When will I meet Brett?" question. She replied that yes, she had been asked to do so, and did. So: a total of one hundred dollars, for two failed predictions. Maybe I should send money and ask Browne: "If you could (supposedly) find out Brett's first name, why not his last name too?" Or perhaps: "Why could you only describe Brett as 'tall and slender, with a slender nose and full lips'? You are evidently claiming to 'see' the man. Why can't you also say that he is around six feet, two inches tall, weighs around 185 pounds, is Caucasian, has green eyes and brown hair?" Was she this vague only because it was a "letter question" and not a full-blown "reading?" I don't think so. Scroll down and read the article "Crystal Bawl" in the Related Links section below, and then ask yourself: If the woman who wrote this email could have afforded a $750 phone reading, would she have gotten any more for her money?
